I took a morning bus from Cameron Highlands to Ipoh for 22RM, it took around 2 hours to arrive at Amanjaya Terminal. From there I had to get a local bus which was upstairs from the arrivals, and found bus 116 to Medan Kidd Station which is a short walk to my hostel and Little India Old town.
I’m staying at Bed Bike Backpackers Studio, and it’s a really nice place. I was worried at first because it is a studio and thought the sound would travel but it turned out to be super comfortable.
I arrived before check in, so I walked to China town (I didn’t fancy Indian food so wandered around) and was pleasantly surprised at the charm and character this town had to offer. I was also super excited because I was craving Chinese food and I wasn’t dissapointed with what was on offer. I ate a noodle soup, which wasn’t fishy like Malay food and got some small pork puffs from a stall. I also got a cendol as I am addicted to them.
It’s really not hard to find food here, there’s a space called Plan B and around there you have market lane, and plenty of restaurants all really cheap.
Later that afternoon I sought out Laundry with the volunteer worker at the hostel. He had data on his phone so offered to order an uber for me to save walking into the new town. The laundry was near the night market , near Jalan Theatre and with a bit of persuasion I was able to get it back within an hour for no extra cost. In that hour I walked quickly to the mall and had a quick look round and visited the supermarket.
For dinner I ate the food I bought at the supermarket and chilled out, I do a lot of chilling these days…
