I woke up super early in the tent, needing the toilet no less and had to go find a bush to relieve myself haha. I noticed that the other couple camping on the island were leaving and after my quick break it was just me, Jeni and our guide on the island. We were served breakfast which was egg, bread and some fruit, it was so delightful sitting on the beach with our beautiful surrounding.
As our boat was broken, it had been taken back to Sibaltan and we were pretty much stranded until a new boat could come pick us up. So we decided to do some early morning snorkelling, I saw so many interesting fish and was really enjoying the sights. There’s some coral here which was quite undamaged and I still couldn’t get over the fact that it was just Jeni and I in the area. Our guide came out on a kayak to to take us to a spot just a little further away where there was even more bigger coral and more fish for us to see. I saw many star fish and huge fish as well as smaller ones, probably one of the best snorkelling experiences I’ve had. The whole area is relatively locked off as there is a huge pearl farm nearby which is protected by security so there’s no deep diving in this area.
Once our new boat arrived, we packed up our tent and then headed off to another island for snorkelling. We were dropped off quite far away from the island and we were swimming amongst many tiny jellyfish, and the plankton/ tiny unseen shrimp were stinging us. However once we were nearer the rock it was really great coral and I saw lots of fish.
We got back to Sibaltan around 1230 and we spent the rest of the day chilling in the shade to protect our sunburn. It was overall a really great experience and so worth being on these islands away from many other tourists.
